Shooting Stars Tournament Results

Wow, what a great weekend of girl’s hockey! Tournament Director, Matt Ulinski will have a wrap-up announcement later this week. A special note of thanks to Matt for his diligent planning and leadership which makes our tournament so successful! Here are some details for our Shooting Stars Teams and a summary of the Tournament results.

 

ON FRIDAY DEC. 4 - All three Ithaca teams were victorious!

Ithaca Shooting Stars 12U over Skaneateles Lakers 12U, 3- 2

Julie Miettunen one goal and two assists, Madison Gneo two assists, Anastasia Lyon one goal, Paige Johnson one assist.

Devin Baylor was in goal for Ithaca.

Ithaca Shooting Stars 14U over Adirondack Northstars 14U, 4- 2

Hat trick by Ismini Ethridge, and one goal by Zsofi Szegletes, four assists by Camille Rogers.

Caitlin Whittaker was in goal for Ithaca.

Ithaca Shooting Stars 19U over Buffalo Regals 19U, 6- 2

Carrie Wilder scored a hat trick and one assist, Bridget Derraugh and Erin Grainger each had one goal and one assist, and Gabe Klick had two assists; Emily Eisenhut also scored, and Lauren Herrick and Shaina Joffe each one assist.

Sarah Eisenhut was in goal for Ithaca.

In other action, West Seneca Wings 12U two wins over Camillus Cougars 12U and Binghamton Blizzard 12U; Niagara Jr. Eagles 14U over Rome Grizzlies 14U; Buffalo Regals 16U over Binghamton Blizzard 16U; Buffalo Hornets 16U over Saugerties Fillies 16U; and Hamburg Hawks 19U over Mohawk Valley Comets 19U

 

ON SATURDAY DEC. 5

Ithaca Shooting Stars 12U fell to Saugerties Fillies 12U, 2-3

Madison Gneo scored one goal, and Paige Johnson scored assisted by Samantha Pundt.

Devin Baylor made 18 saves.

Ithaca Shooting Stars 14U fell to Hamburg Hawks 14U, 3-7

Aiya Taylor scored assisted by Rachel Brock; Clara Karastury scored assisted by Marlena Doerr and Zsofi Szegletes; Szegletes scored assisted by Camille Rogers and Ismini Ethridge.

Alex Stagliano made 17 saves.

Ithaca Shooting Stars 19U beat Susquehanna Rapids (Maryland) 19U, 6-0

Emily Eisenhut had a hat trick, she was assisted twice by Lauren Cole and once by Erin Grainger; Cole had a goal unassisted; Carrie Wilder scored assisted by Gabe Klick; and Bridget Derraugh scored once assisted by Wilder and Klick.

Sarah Eisenhut was in goal.

Ithaca Shooting Stars 12U lost to West Seneca Wings 12U in crossover/semi-final, 1-3 

Paige Johnson scored the lone Ithaca goal, and goalie Devin Baylor made 29 saves. 

In other action, Buffalo Hornets 16U and Niagara Coyotes 16U tied, Mohawk Valley Comets 19U and Adirondack Northstars 19U tied, Niagara Junior Purple Eagles 14U beat the New Jersey Quarry Cats 14U, Buffalo Regals 19U beat Susquehanna Rapids 19U, Clifton Park Eagles 16U beat Buffalo Regals 16U, Saugerties Fillies 12U beat the Skaneateles Lakers 12U, Adirondack Northstars 14U beat the Hamburg Hawks 14U, Rome Grizzlies 14U over New Jersey Quarry Cats 14U, Clifton Park Eagles 16U over Binghamton Blizzard 16U, Niagara Coyotes 16U over Saugerties Fillies 16U, Adirondack Northstars 19U beat the Hamburg Hawks 19U, Saugerties Fillies 12U over Camillus Cougars 12U, Hamburg Hawks 14U over the New Jersey Quarry Cats 14U, Niagara Junior Purple Eagles 14U over Adirondack Northstars 14U , Niagara Coyotes 16U over Buffalo Regals 16U, and Clifton Park Eagles 16U over Buffalo Hornets 16U.

Ithaca Shooting Stars 19U lost in 2OT to the Hamburg Hawks 19U, in the crossover/semi-final, 1-2

Lauren Cole scored assisted by Katie Long.

Sarah Eisenhut made 14 saves in the loss (Ithaca outshot Hamburg by two to one margin).

Ithaca Shooting Stars 14U played in consolation game (due to tie-breakers at the 14U level) with the Rome Grizzlies 14U and won 2-0

Clara Karastury scored unassisted, and Marlena Doerr assisted by Rachel Brock and Jacy Hollander.
Alex Stagliano was in goal with 12 saves (Ithaca outshot Rome by three to one margin).

In other consolation and crossover action, Binghamton Blizzard 16U over Saugerties Fillies 16U, Skaneateles Lakers 12U over Binghamton Blizzard 12U, and Mohawk Valley Comets 19U over Susquehanna Rapids 19U.

In the championship games: 

Saugerties Fillies 12U defeated West Seneca Wings 12U, 2-1

Niagara Junior Purple Eagles 14U beat the Hamburg Hawks 14U, 4-3

Niagara Coyotes 16U and Clifton Park Eagles 16U tied 2-2 after 2OT, Coyotes won shoot out

Adirondack Northstars 19U were victorious over Hamburg Hawks 19U, 4-0
