Cub Club Bowling
All Cub Club little sisters are invited to attend a Bowling Party with the
Cornell Women's Hockey Team on January 16th from 6 to 7:30 pm at Helen Newman
Lanes. There will be pizza and beverages. Please RSVP to Ron Babuka at

Cub Clubber will be able to attend by January 14th.

Mike Kirk distributed photos last week to those who ordered team and individual
photos from him after the December photo shoots at TGHA practices (more shoots
will be scheduled for those who didn't get photographed yet). If you didn't get

IHS Boys Invite Youth Players
The IHS boys' hockey team will play its next home game at the Rink at 1:30 pm
this Saturday Jan. 13 against Oswego. The game is earlier in the day than
normal to encourage younger hockey players from the area to attend. Anyone
wearing a hockey jersey will get free admission to the game. We hope to see a
lot of TGHA players at the game! Please spread the word to everyone you know.

IYHA Bantam Snowbelt team is hosting a pancake breakfast on Sat Jan 13th from
8am – 12 noon.

Ithaca 14U Shooting Stars Win Tournament
16Us and 19Us In Action, Too
The Ithaca 14U Shooting Stars girls hockey team won the Skantown Showdown
Tournament Jan. 6-7 in Skaneateles, while the 16Us played two games that ended
in tie scores, and the 19Us won two.
The 14Us won two games and lost one in preliminary action to advance to the
championship game against the host Skaneateles Lakers. Regulation play ended in
a 2-2 tie but Ithaca won the shootout which followed a scoreless overtime period
to be the tournament champions. Goals were scored by Melissa Ash and Carrie
Wilder. Assists were made by Wilder, Lauren Herrick and Lucy Marshall.
Meredith Kirk was the shooter who broke the tie during the shootout.
In the preliminary round, Ithaca defeated a team from Barrie, Ontario 4-0.
Olivia Ramos scored two goals while Nitsan Goldstein and Ash each scored one.
Angela Everhart had 20 saves in the shutout. Next they beat the Camillus
Cougars 14U team, 3-1. Melissa Ash scored assisted by Herrick who also scored
unassisted. Ali Pace also scored and Everhart had to make 30 saves. The Shooting
Stars lost to Skaneateles 3-4 in their first meeting. Goldstein, Herrick, and
Wilder scored the goals assisted by Marissa Ramos, Marshall, Wilder, Herrick.
The team is coached by Ron Wilder, Dave Herrick and Mike Kirk. Other team
members are Carolyn Dunk, Krystalyn Yonkin, Allison Grippin,Hannah Golay, Jackie
Cornell, and Charlotte Stevens.
Ithaca's 16U team tied the Mohawk Valley Herricanes 19Us 2-2 and the Camillus
Cougars 19Us 1-1. Against Mohawk Valley, Janesa Cornish scored from an Elaina
Jones assist, and Erin Grainger scored unassisted. Ithaca outshot Camillus 22-6
but the only shot to count was by Whitney Colbert who scored unassisted.
Annabelle Jones and Sara Eisenhut shared goaltending duties.
The 19U girls defeated the Ithaca Furies women's team 6-0 and the Binghamton
Blizzard girls 5-0. Chelsea Meyer had the shutout vs. the Furies while Diane
Ralyea scored two goals and Emma Bechert, Ashley Johnson, Amanda Menichelli and
Samantha Craig each scored one. Against Binghamton, Karen Uber was in goal
earning the shutout. Meyer scored two goals in this contest. Single goals were
recorded for Craig, Ralyea and Kendall Brug.
