Ithaca 14U Shooting Stars Finalists
at Skaneateles Tournament
Ithaca 13U and 16U Teams Also
Successful
During Jan. 5-6 weekend, three Ithaca
Shooting Stars teams were successful in their first games of 2008. The
14Us participated in the SkanTown Tournament and finished in second place to
the host Skaneateles Lakers 16Us. Ithaca
lost 2-1 in the championship game with Catherine Watkins scoring assisted
by Marissa Ramos. Angela
Everhart made 18 saves.
Earlier in the tournament, Ithaca lost 3-1 to the
same Lakers team they met in the championship. Ali Pace scored the
lone goal with an assist from Carrie Wilder. Everhart made 16 saves. They
defeated the Binghamton Blizzards 16U, 3-2, with two goals
by Ramos and one by Wilder. Assists were awarded to M. Ramos,
Watkins, Allison Grippin, and Lauren Herrick. Ithaca also beat the Webster Cyclones
14Us, 6-1. Two goals were scored by Hannah Golay and single ones by Olivia
Ramos, Jackie Cornell, Charlotte
Stevens, and Herrick. Assists came from Pace, Herrick, O.
Ramos, and Meredith Kirk. Everhart needed to stop 23 shots.
The 13U Shooting Stars defeated the Binghamton Blizzard 12U team, 4-0.
They were lead by Bridget Derraugh's two unassisted goals. Risa
Ulinski, assisted by Derraugh, and Camille Rogers, unassisted, also
scored. Alex Stagliano had 5 saves in goal.
The 16U Shooting Stars tied the Geneva
Bombers 19U team, 0-0, and beat the Syracuse Stars 17U Tier 2 team, 4-2. Sarah
Eisenhut made 9 saves, yet the Geneva goalie
needed to stop over 30 shots by the Ithaca
girls. Annabelle Jones stopped 19 shots by the Syracuse Stars the next
day. Janesa Cornish scored twice, once assisted by Colleen Dillon and
once unassisted. Katie Long and Kaitlyn Ryan each scored, assisted by
Emily Eisenhut and Kathryn Luschwitz, respectively.
